TWO MODELS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE: The T-1000 Jett Safe model is designed with a coil cord for Loading Bridges servicing Regional Jets. This allows ample movement of the ground personnel as they watch the jet bridge approach the aircraft but also assure that the jet bridge is properly returned to the stow box, or past the aircraft safety zone. The T-2000 Jett Safe Model is designed with a 20-foot cord on a retractable reel for loading bridges servicing Wide-body Aircraft, Narrow Body Aircraft, and Regional Jets. This also allows ample movement of ground personnel and allows the operator to extend the cord from the reel to maintain the switch in their hand as the Jet Bridge is raised to meet larger aircrafts. Jett Safe is a dead man switch used to help in the safe movement of a passenger loading bridges or PLBs. This switch forces two people to control the forward and reverse motion of the loading bridge. Jett Safe allows the ramp staff to assist in the proper approach and alignment of the loading bridge as it meets the aircraft. This device is designed to assure maximum safety procedures by forcing communication between the loading bridge operator and ramp personnel. Additionally, your employees and ground equipment are protected. The operator of a loading bridge has difficulty seeing and determining distance of nearby objects such as baggage carts, tugs and personnel. The Jett Safe allows the ground level guide person to assist in ensuring the area is clear of any obstacles prior to the movement of loading bridge. The guide person also controls any changes and can stop the movement of the PLB in the event of a sudden obstruction. The guide person acts as a dead man and if something is of concern, the ramp agent can immediately stop the bridge and communicate any concerns to the loading bridge operator.
Cab rotation is also controlled with the dead man switch. The Jett Safe is designed to force a "Second Set of Eyes" to ensure the safe approach of a loading bridge toward an aircraft. A person on the ground must be holding the Jett Safe in order for the cab operator to operate the bridge. Jett Safe is a product designed to protect aircraft from damage caused by loading bridge operators through misalignment. In all cases, the use of a guide person is ONLY required during bridge docking to and from the aircraft. When the bridge is on Auto Level, the guide person is not required. This allows efficient use of staff personnel.
Time is money; we at Tek Smart Enterprise LLC realize this. The aircraft docking times remain the same with the Jett Safe. The only requirement is to have a guide person on the ground to assist in the process while docking the PLB. Most air operators require a guide person in their training process. This product requires that ramp personnel be available to guide the PLB safely to and away from the aircraft. With most carriers, the aircraft guide person will perform this function in less than 30 seconds. Mechanical features of the Switch:
